My Introduction

My introduction:
Dear readers this is Chandrasen Rajashekar from Shimoga, India living in Berlin, Germany. I am a Business Intelligence Manager (Data Analyst) by profession looking forward to becoming a business owner in order to achieve freedom and make as many peoples lives better.
My background:
I come from a family with a business background doing quite ok and because of that (I think) I always wanted to be a man who owns a business and employees people and do the best I can for the group of people who I employ and beyond. To give a bit of context, even today when I talk to granny over the phone and tell her that I am working in Germany, her immediate response would be, grandson we have a legacy of running businesses and employing people. When that is the case why do want to work for others and make your living, please come back home and take over your father’s business.
Although my dad (and also my uncles and grandparents) run businesses and are hard workers, our business/firm is not a Multi-million dollar company and it did not grow like some of the successful businesses in the world. As I grew seeing my dad working really hard (which is his nature and he loves doing that because he likes the process and being engaged in work most of the time) I started to question myself what is that my dad doing something not right which is not making the company grow at scale, when compared to other business owners who are doing it right so that the businesses grow and thrive to become big and successful. This remained as a question with me which needed to be answered at some point in the future. So, basically, these things got stuck in my mind while I was studying my 11th and 12th grade which I did when I was living with my parents and later I moved to a different city to peruse my Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. As soon as I got into the university I told my dad that I am really interested in doing my Masters degree in the western world (with the curiosity to know why and how does a developed country looks like and what I can learn from those people so that I can build a great business by learning from them) so that my dad gets some time (4 years) to arrange money to accomplish my dream. Without giving a second thought he said yes to my request.
After finishing my bachelor's degree I flew to Heidelberg, Germany to peruse my master's degree in International Business and Engineering. Before coming to Germany few incidents took place within my family which made me commit myself that I should not ask for any extra money from my parents hereafter (by which I can reduce the burden on them) and I did so by working all kind of odd jobs like working in restaurants as cleaner, hotels as a cleaning boy, fulfilment centres to support my living while I was studying (which is by the way is very common for students to do so in Germany).
While I was studying my masters I met my first so-called mentor friend who informed me about Data Science which created a lot of interest in me and I ended up signing in for a Data Science specialisation in coursera. After started learning this course for few months I ended up getting an unpaid internship in Berlin in a tiny startup and my job was mainly focused on data analysis and business strategy planning, along with doing the internship I was also working 2–3 days a week night shift in a fulfilment centre to support my living. I liked my job very much and this helped me to get another internship (this time paid) in Business Intelligence in another startup which according to me is a perfect blend to learn both business strategies to grow a business and understanding and learning how to analyse and visualise data. When I started working in this startup it was in a very initial stage and I got the opportunity to learn a lot both about business and also about data analysis. After working here for about a year I never looked back and I kept on learning, growing and taking small risks which put me in a position to end up again in a very early stage Startup, where I got an opportunity to build business intelligence stack from the ground up. During the process, I also learned how a company can be built from the ground up. While accepting the job offer from this early stage startup I had to choose between an offer from one of the big companies with way better salary, but the reason for me to choose to work for the early stage startup with comparatively high risk and less salary is because I wanted to learn to build both business Intelligence stack and business itself from the ground up as this is what I want one day down the line a few years from now.
Why did I start reading books? (Most of the time business books, biographies, psychology and science)
Until I have come to Germany I was not at all used to reading books. I have been following Elon Musk since years. While doing so I stumbled across his biography called ‘Elon Musk’ written by Ashlee Vance. I took almost more than 2 months to finish my first book and I was fascinated by reading his story and started to understand how hard it is to build successful businesses. Thereafter I started to learn lessons and track patterns of successful entrepreneurs. After reading this book I started reading more and more business books and biographies to understand more about businesses, entrepreneurs mindset, the common patterns in successful entrepreneurs journey so that I can follow them and prepare myself to be a person who is Unshakable. So far I have read about 15 business books and biographies and my idea is to share my learnings, takeaways, the summary of all the books that I have read so far to the people who are in the same boat as myself.
I would also love to know your opinions on my learnings and takeaways from the books that I have read and shared the information, if you are someone who would have already read the books that I have read then please share your thoughts on those books in the comment and also I would love to know about other books which might help people like me to know more about building businesses and entrepreneurship.
I am really glad that you read about my background and I highly appreciate for spending some time to read it, but if I were you then by now I would be thinking why the F*** did I just read this unknown guy’s background and why I should know about him. And here is my answer to that question, basically very recently (since 2 years) I started reading business books and biographies and while I read I have the habit of making notes and short summary so that I can refer to those specific notes when needed to get the glimpse of the book and read it multiple times if necessary. Since I have the notes with me I thought of sharing my notes about the books that I have read so far this year to the public which might help people to choose if they want to read it or not by knowing what are the topics that are being covered in those books.
